Blanton’s Gold Edition Bourbon is a special release from the historic Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky that builds on the legacy of the original Blanton’s single barrel expression. Each bottle is drawn from an individual barrel aged in Warehouse H and bottled at 103 proof (51.5 percent alcohol by volume) so the full range of deep flavors can come through. On the nose you’ll find spicy rye influence with tobacco, honey and dark fruit, while the palate shows layers of caramel, oak and vanilla with citrus notes and a long warming finish that lingers with spice and toffee.

Blantons Gold Edition Bourbon was originally released primarily for export markets but has become much talked about among collectors and whiskey drinkers for the distinctive gold label and the unique story behind each barrel choice. The bottle is topped with a horse and jockey stopper collectors seek out, and many regard it as a significant step up in intensity and complexity from the standard Blanton’s bottling. It drinks well neat or with a splash of water to open up the rich aromas and intricate flavors that reward slow sipping.
