Wild Turkey Rare Breed is a “barrel proof bourbon”, meaning it has no added water to lower the proof or dilute the flavor after it’s been distilled. It’s a unique marriage of Wild Turkey 6, 8, and 12 year old stocks, giving it a remarkably smooth flavor. Rare Breed Wild Turkey Bourbon is bottled at cask strength, and are often absolutely staggering stuff. The bottles have had a little redesign recently, and look very stylish indeed – though the eponymous turkey on the label looks rather surprised to be there. This particular edition was bottled at 58.4% ABV.
Production Process
The bold spirit of Wild Turkey is faithfully represented in every drop of this authentic barrel proof whiskey—the original “small batch” barrel proof bourbon. A blend of our finest selection of 6-, 8-, and 12-year bourbon, no water is added before bottling, for a curated sipping experience like drinking straight from the cask.
The intense vanilla and exceptional mouthfeel have made this expression a legend in its own right—best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.

This is one of our favorite, go to bourbons. It has all the traditional smells and tastes with something to experience from the nose at the beginning to the flavors of spices, carmel, toffee and oaks throughout. There is a nice bourbon heat at the end.

Ever since the first sip it has been one of my favorites! Try neat first to get true mouth feel, heat aannnd finish. Then neat with a drop of water is perfect to get more flavor notes!
