Ichiro’s Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve Single Malt Japanese Whisky
The return of a legendary whisky from Ichiro Akuto, formerly of Hanyu distillery and now founder and distiller at Chichibu. This is a blend of malt whiskies from his extensive stocks, including whisky matured in mizunara fragrant Japanese oak. Outstandingly rare, with only very limited amounts available to the whisky industry to use to make casks, mizunara is uniquely fragrant and adds a refined and almost incense like air to this whisky.
Created by Ichiro Akuto, this is a vatting of various single malts which have been aged in Japanese Mizunara oak. It is a superb whisky, with loads of character from the Japanese oak.

NOSE
Honeyed and toasty, sweet and light citrus, hints of grapefruit and a sugar in a bowl, tangy.
PALATE
Rich, spice, fruity, tangy, fruity, malt. Hints of honey and toffee apples.
FINISH
Abrupt, but very spicy, sweet.
